5.3 Algorithms

• Two algorithms have been implemented to cipher partitions:
  • CAST-128 defined in RFC 2144; look at <http://www.entrust.com/>
    used in ECB mode

  • Twofish defined by Bruce Schneier, Doug Whiting, John Kelsey, Chris Hall et David Wagner; look at <http://www.counterpane.com>
    used in CBC mode

• An option permits to enable in CBC mode any of the 8 algorithms available:
  • Blowfish, DES, DFC, IDEA, MARS, RC5, RC6 et Serpent.

• Hash algorithms MD5 and SHA1 are also available.
